ME has also been known to report itself as version 4.90.3000
ME *is* V4.90.3000 but will report itself as V4.10.3000 if the exe calling
the GetVersionEx API is setup.exe.
AFAIK, this (undocumented) “feature” was built in so that installers of
Win98-specific software would not refuse to operate on WinME.
